“What Could Possibly Go Wrong?” Part One – Why You Should Hire Professional Movers

What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

Moving is never really viewed as a small task or easy undertaking. But, the choice to move by yourself can definitely make an already difficult task more stressful. We understand that not everyone can afford to hire professional movers, but it’s important to keep in mind that movers offer a variety of services and prices. For example, you can pack your own things which will save you cost-wise. But, if you choose to do your move completely on your own without any help from a professional moving company, we feel like there are a few things you should know.

Professional movers are trained in packing your belongings in the most efficient and safest way possible. They are trained to pack in such a way that even your fine china makes it to its new destination without a scratch. Can you say the same? If you pack it, are you going to just use old newspapers and hope for the best? If it gets broken, how will you replace it?

Professional Movers Provide the Best Move

It’s National Moving Month! Here at Florida Moving Systems, we think that’s pretty exciting. Of course, moving is our business, and we think it should be celebrated every month! This time of the year, there are small and big moves happening everywhere. Schools are getting out in many areas like Brevard County. Teachers are often moving from one classroom to another for the next school year or simply packing up items they wish to take home for the summer. College students who live in the dorms are moving out of their dorm rooms, headed home for the summer. Some college students are moving from the dorms into off-campus living quarters like an apartment or townhouse. And, of course, there are those of you making traditional moves from one house to another.

How Can I Love Moving?

Ah, February…this month is known for love, candy hearts (that actually taste like chalk!), and romantic sentiments. Valentine’s Day is celebrated in multiple countries.  It is the second largest card-sending holiday of the year.  For many people, all of February is a time to carry on cute little traditions. Women get manicures and pedicures in red and pink.  Husbands are forced to place flags in the yard with hearts all over them.  And, children began drooling over all the candy treats and chocolate they see in every store!

Gary Sinise Foundation

Since Veterans Day was the other day, we want to take a minute to highlight a North American® partner making a big impact on Our Nation’s veterans. North American proudly became the official moving partner of the Gary Sinise Foundation in 2014, and what an amazing and inspiring experience it has been!

In 2011, Gary Sinise established the Gary Sinise Foundation with a mission to serve and honor our nation’s defenders, veterans, first responders and their families. Sinise believes as citizens, supporting the heroes of our nation is a responsibility each of us must carry. The Gary Sinise Foundation does just that through a variety of programs, and works to ensure the sacrifices of America’s defenders and their families are never forgotten.  For more than a decade, Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band have toured the globe in support of our troops. The band aims to raise spirits and awareness for military and first responder causes worldwide.  Through the foundation’s Invincible Spirit Festivals, the team is boosting the morale at military medical centers across the country. The daylong celebrations provide an escape from the rigors of rehabilitation for the hospital’s patients, staff and families.  The Relief & Resiliency Outreach program is providing complete support to those recovering from trauma, injury and loss during times of urgent need.

The Sinise Foundation is also providing financial support and training to America’s firefighters, police departments and EMTs through its First Responders Outreach program.  Serving Heroes is a program providing hearty, classic American meals to our defenders across the country.  The Arts & Entertainment Outreach program now includes the Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago and the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. Each theatre provides dinner and a performance to local veterans free of charge.  In 2012, the Gary Sinise Foundation began building specially adapted custom smart homes for American veterans that have suffered life-altering injuries through its partner program. Each home is designed to meet the needs of the specific service member recipient and their family, and features automated amenities to ease the daily challenges these heroes face. In 2013, the Gary Sinise Foundation expanded these efforts by establishing its R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program.

In 2015, the Gary Sinise Foundation launched Soaring Valor with The National WWII Museum.  The program provides WWII veterans a chance to visit the museum and documents their first-hand accounts of the war for future generations.  The Gary Sinise Foundation mission to never stop serving our nation’s heroes and families is deep rooted and continues to make a difference with new and existing programs. For more information, head to the Gary Sinise website or check out this video about the organization.

“The nation which forgets its defenders will itself be forgotten.”– President Calvin Coolidge

What is Military Makeover??

About Military Makeover:

The men and women of our Military risk everything to protect our country’s freedom and our way of life. But who protects them when they return? Who supports them, helps them in their time of need and gives them hope for the future?

From the producers of the award-winning home decorating and remodeling show, Designing Spaces, comes a very special mini-series dedicated to giving back to members of our Military and their loved ones. Enlisting the help of decorators, designers, landscapers and other home renovation experts, our host, retired United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant R. Lee Ermey “The Gunny”, helps transform the homes – and the lives – of military families across the country.

Whether it’s a veteran and their loved ones, a wounded warrior or a newly relocated military family, this mini-series salutes those that have risked the ultimate sacrifice, offering hope and a helping hand right here on the home front.
