A few weeks ago, our Florida Moving Systems blog went over a few practical ways to improve the curb appeal of your house while on the market. If you are one of our readers trying to sell your home in the Vero Beach or Melbourne areas, we hope you found our suggestions helpful and maybe even put them to use! If you haven’t had a chance to read the article, click here.
This week, we would like to focus more on the photo aspect of the house-selling process, as this can often be one of the most persuading factors for those internet buyers to click on your listing or keep scrolling. After all, as we mentioned before, the first place that 88% of home buyers look is on the web. So, make sure you’re putting your best foot (and image) forward!
Don’t be camera shy
Good news! We’re not in the “good ‘ol days” anymore where each photo costs a few cents and multiple photos can add up. Now it’s easier than ever to take multiple photos on your digital camera or even on your smart phone for no cost at all. Take advantage and shoot angles-galore of your home! Most people want to see the other views of a house; after all, there is only so much detail that can be seen from the usual straight-on shot. As a bonus, you’ll be able to showcase unique features that otherwise might go unnoticed.
Keep it level
Try to make your home as level as possible in the shot. Otherwise it could appear to be slanted or tilted in the photos.
Remove “date” distractors
What do we mean by this? Try to make sure your photos highlight your home, not your Christmas decorations in the yard. Even if you have a life-size Nativity scene on your front lawn or a giant inflatable pumpkin for Halloween, take them down before taking pictures. Plus, these seasonal decorations could be an indicator of how long your house has been on the market which could turn some buyers away.
