Moving is a big task even when it’s just across town. Some of you may be getting ready to make moves from one state to another or even from one coast to another. At Florida Moving Systems, we like to give travel tips to help make your move as easy and fun as possible. We know that most of you don’t associate the word fun with a move, but the two can go hand-in-hand.
To help us illustrate our point, we decided to talk with a family that made a coast-to-coast move from California to Florida. While this drive could technically be done in three or four days, that is a lot of driving in a very short period of time. That isn’t super fun. So, we wanted to know what this family did to turn their big move into a big vacation.

A woman getting her lunch in Cocoa Village while on lunch break from work was recently asked by a visitor if she was taking the lunch back on the ship. She thought she was a fellow cruise passenger. When she told the friendly cruise passenger that she was headed back to work, the woman’s eyes grew wide with wonder as she asked, “You LIVE here?” Yes. Yes, we do. We live in this year-round semi-tropical, beautiful place.
Moving at any time of the year is a big task. Moving in the summer comes with its own set of pros and cons. We thought since it’s summertime that it would be a good time to share with you some tips to help your move go as smoothly as possible. Here in Florida, the heat and humidity is something that must be taken into consideration when moving.
Some of you are lucky enough to have lived on the Space Coast your whole life. Others have moved here for college or jobs. Many are military and government-employed families stationed at Patrick Air Force and Port Canaveral. And, some knew that retirement wouldn’t be sweeter anywhere else! Whatever brought you here, we know that it is a great place to be and wanted to share with you some of the upcoming fun to be had if you are here this summer.
