It’s National Moving Month! Here at Florida Moving Systems, we think that’s pretty exciting. Of course, moving is our business, and we think it should be celebrated every month! This time of the year, there are small and big moves happening everywhere. Schools are getting out in many areas like Brevard County. Teachers are often moving from one classroom to another for the next school year or simply packing up items they wish to take home for the summer. College students who live in the dorms are moving out of their dorm rooms, headed home for the summer. Some college students are moving from the dorms into off-campus living quarters like an apartment or townhouse. And, of course, there are those of you making traditional moves from one house to another.
How is decluttering different than spring cleaning? Quite simply, it isn’t cleaning, in any form. That may seem confusing, but it’s true. Cleaning implies wiping things down, removing dirt or dust, or picking up loose particles with a broom or mop. Decluttering is none of those things. It is something that you can do any time of the year, but many people prefer to do it alongside their spring cleaning. In truth, doing a good, thorough de-cluttering should be attempted at least once every six months.
We at Florida Moving Systems are back with the second part of our blog about spring cleaning, offering you tips on what tasks to tackle! Say that three times fast! We hope you are finding these spring cleaning tips helpful and useful. Let’s get back at it!
An oft-neglected task is wiping down window sills and baseboards. Window sills are often hidden with blinds and curtains, so we tend to forget they are there and in need of a good wiping. Our baseboards may be covered by furniture for the most part. You can pull the furniture out (if it won’t hurt your back) or ask someone else to do it for you. Wipe down the dust that has accumulated on the top of the baseboards. To help save your back, you can also opt to use a vacuum attachment to suck up that dust.
Spring has sprung as you can tell and that means cleaning time, and well…let the whining commence. Throughout the land, you can hear that little rhyme being sung by mothers, “Clean up, clean up, everybody, everywhere. Clean up, clean up, everybody do your share.” This is usually followed by a cacophony of moans, groans, and whining. So, spring cleaning may not float everybody’s boat, but it definitely gets your house in order and feeling fresh again.
